Outdoor Activities Kid Friendly – Our family does Montessori homeschool preschool year round, without actually taking a summer vacation. But when the weather is nice, we like to take the class outside! Here are more than 20 Montessori-friendly activities to stay cool and interact with nature this summer, broken down by category.

Sweeping outdoor patios, weeding flower beds, raking leaves, picking up fallen logs – gardening is a great way to involve your toddler in a meaningful activity outside!

Ice cream is a great way to cool off in the summer and it stays cold for a long time even in the heat of summer! This sensory ice cube tray will provide hours of outdoor play while working on motor skills and eye-coordination.

Our favorite sand and water table is our most used outdoor toy! We usually fill it with play sand and/or water, but this time we mixed beans in it – and it’s so much fun! I like the table we have because it is divided into two parts and one side has a drain for easy drainage.

Natural ingredients make great sensory bottle filters! Just pick the pieces out and put them in a bottle full of water.

All water play should always happen outside if you ask me! A simple wash or flow is fun and can be done with anything you can find – get your free printable chart HERE.

We actually built ice cubes in a snow bin during the winter, but it would also be a great way to cool off in the summer heat! Place some beads/sequins in an ice cube tray and freeze with water to make colorful building blocks. Paint water on the blocks to make them stick together!

Ice cube mining is a fun way to learn about melting properties while cooling down! Put your favorite toys in a big ice cube and find out how to get them out!

You can even use science to create a delicious summer treat! Make ice cream at home using ingredients you probably already have at home!

Painting with water is another fun way to stay cool in the summer – and water evaporates quickly to provide an endless canvas!

Creating art using nature is also a fun way to remember a vacation or a fun summer vacation! Painting with seashells is interesting because of the variety of textures and textures available.

One of our favorite summer coloring activities is painting with watercolor cubes! I love how bright the colors are and how the pictures change as the ice continues to melt.

And we are big fans of children’s free play, sometimes we need something organized and still want children to play together and have fun. Today Tine Voeten, a Belgian mother of two, is here to share her family’s favorite outdoor party games, crafts and activities. So whether you’re hosting a birthday party, BBQ, family gathering, or just having the kids over for some playtime, keep them outside and entertained with 30+ outdoor party games for kids.

Summer vacation is a time for our family gatherings, picnics in the park and gatherings with friends. Not only are we invited to all the wonderful barbecues and summer parties, but every year we have nine birthdays to celebrate in the summer months. With all these events, we are always in need of fun game ideas to keep the kids engaged and entertained! We’ve become experts at throwing outdoor parties, and today we’re sharing our ideas for the best outdoor party games for kids.

First, I want to share a secret. We never spend a big budget on our birthday parties. The simpler the better, the more creative we become. Because we don’t want to spend a lot of money on entertainment, all of the following party games are easy to play and set up without any preparation. If you need anything, the items can be found somewhere around the house or bought cheaply at your local dollar store. Bottles, cardboard boxes, pieces of wood, water guns, you name it! And if you don’t have exactly what you want, feel free to create and improve! Don’t make it difficult! You have this!

Fun Summer Ideas For Kids And Parents

This is the conclusion of our children’s number one favorite outdoor party game! It’s easy, delicious, healthy, and so much fun! All you need is a large bucket of apples for each child. Just fill a bucket with water and let the kids try to touch one with their teeth. Just make sure all contestants have teeth! Our six-year-old lost two very important things. It didn’t go the way he wanted!

Water balloons are a staple at children’s outdoor parties. And if it’s hot outside, a water balloon fight should be on your list of party games. No doubt it will cool the kids and make them cry with joy! Or doing a water balloon toss. Line up the kids facing each other and have them toss the water balloon back and forth, going farther and taking a step back for each successful catch. The last team with an unpopped balloon wins.

In the summer, many of us have a small pool for children in the garden or in the backyard, which you can use in many different ways. A fun thing to do is to DIY a fishing pole (a stick, string and hook will do the trick), throw some toys in the pool and let the kids swim! If you don’t want to pretend to be a fish, you can look for treasure in the pond. Fill the baby pool with water and hide a weighted ring (or other treasure) at the bottom of the pool. Then fill the pool with inflatable balls and toys (or water balloons) to make it difficult to see the bottom. Let the children walk around the pool looking for hidden treasure using only their feet.

Form lines with the children standing in the back. The first person grabs the bottle and tries to fill the cup of the person behind. Then, this other person will pass the water over to the person behind them. If you do this on a hot and warm summer day, the kids will thank you later. Honestly, this is my favorite outdoor game to play and watch!

In this game, each team will have an equal number of squirt guns and must try to move the cup on the clothesline to the other side using water. First, tie 2 lengths of clothes (both equal in length) with a plastic cup on the line (cut a hole in the bottom so that the line goes in). Each team stands on one side and must spray the cup on the other side of the line.

Every parent and probably every family member is familiar with tug-of-war. Most of them probably played it themselves as children. Tug-of-war is a simple game and the perfect game to plan during a backyard party with a crowd
