Summer vacations are our time for family gatherings, walks in the park, and hanging out with friends. Not only were we invited to all those wonderful BBQs and summer parties, but every year we have nine birthdays to celebrate during the summer months. With all those events, we are always in need of fun game ideas to keep the kids busy and entertained! We’ve become experts at throwing outdoor parties and today we’re sharing our ideas for the best outdoor party games for kids.

First, I would like to share a secret. We don’t spend a big budget on our birthday parties. The simplest, which allows us to get creative. Since we don’t want to spend a fortune on entertainment, all of the fun party games listed are easy to play and set up with little or no preparation. If you need anything, the supplies can be found somewhere around the house or purchased very inexpensively at your local dollar store. Bottles, cardboard boxes, pieces of wood, water guns, you name it! And if you don’t have what you need, feel free to be creative and improvise! Don’t make it difficult! You have this!

This is the number one favorite game to entertain our kids! It’s easy, tasty, healthy and a lot of fun! The only thing you need is a wide bucket and apples for each child. Just fill a bucket with water and let the kids try to catch one with their teeth. Make sure all participants have teeth! Our six year old has missed two important ones. It didn’t go as he wanted!

Water balloons are a staple at any children’s outdoor party. And when it’s hot outside, a water balloon fight is a must on the list of party games. It’s sure to cool the kids and make them squeal with delight! Or, make a water balloon. Line up the kids facing each other and let them toss the water balloon around, moving by taking a step back with each successful catch. The last team with an unpopped balloon wins.

In the summer, many of us have a pool for small children in the garden or yard, which you can use in different ways. One fun thing is to make a fishing pole (make a pole, line and hook), throw toys in the pool and let the kids catch fish!
