Summer break is here for some of us and I get a lot of questions about the best places to take the kids in St. from kid-friendly restaurants to rainy day activities to hot activities, I’ve put together a list of the ultimate St.

Indoor And Outdoor Activities List

Indoor And Outdoor Activities List

I split it between Indoor Activities with Kids – for rainy or very hot days and Outdoor Activities with Kids. I’ve also included some kid-friendly restaurants!

Best St. Louis Kids Activities From A Native St. Louisan Mom

The best place to take children during the winter in St. Louis or on a rainy day! Here are the best indoor activities and attractions in St. Louis for kids. Listed in alphabetical order.

The AB tour is not quite *for kids*, but friendly and fun… plus, free samples at the end for adults ;).

Barnes and Noble has a large children’s reading area with stage tables and trains, as well as other story activities. Find a store near you to see the exact event.

The city museum is perfect for older kids, but at 6, 4, and 2 years old, the oldest is the only one, and sometimes less crowded.

Super Fun Activities And Games For 12 Year Olds

The Creative Station is an amazing indoor space for young children with a limited number of places per session. One of my favorite places for play dates because the room is 100% enclosed and childproof.

I can’t believe I didn’t take my kids to Dream Play in Chesterfield – they have a play option where kids can play in events on certain days/times.

Personally, my favorite indoor trampoline park in the St. Louis area. Louis because there is so much to do! Check the website for “times” where only minors can go.

I have never heard of Grandmother’s Room, but it was recommended by one of the readers and it looks good for small!

Outdoor Activities For Kids (of All Ages!)

I’ve never taken my kids to the Healthworks Museum, which is a museum for kids that teaches about healthy choices, but it’s on my list of places to go :).

The History Museum has a new children’s area called the History Clubhouse, which is free but requires an hourly ticket.

My kids love Kokomo Joe…when my mother in law takes them there ;). They have indoor carts and millions of arcade games.

You need a reservation, but if your child loves cats, this cat cafe in Maplewood is the place to be!

Super Fun Activities To Do On A Rainy Day (with Kids!)

Miss Kelly’s open gym is free if you are enrolled in classes, or available for a fee if you are not.

If the flag house gives you a red flag for germs, skip Monkey Joe! But if you don’t mind a little, there are plenty of inflatables for kids of all ages.

Ballwin Recreation Center (aka The Pointe) has a large indoor pool with slides and you can only pay at the door if you are not a resident.

Indoor And Outdoor Activities List

The science center has something for kids of all ages (my son loves/hates the blind T-rex!) + the Omnimax Theater, but there’s also a discovery room for younger kids who need to buy a ticket.

Outdoor Activities For Kids

There are tons of indoor trampoline spots in STL – check out Sky Zone to see if there’s one near you.

Sports Fusion in Chesterfield seems best for older kids (ages 5+) – this indoor theme park has things like mini golf, an indoor playground, laser tag and a rock climbing frame.

There are TONS of amazing new/new libraries throughout St. Louis and St. Louis. Charles – check the website for kid friendly events + amenities. Here is a link to all the story times. Special Challenges: Some branches have a new “Discovery Zone” area that one of you describes as “The House of Magic”. Meramec Valley + Daniel Boone + Florissant Valley Branch all have discovery areas.

Upper Limits is an indoor climbing area with a great area for kids called Wacky Walls. My two older kids love it – must be at least 22 lbs.

Office Christmas Party Ideas, Games & Activities For Work

I haven’t visited this gem yet, but I like what I hear! For 7 year olds, Urban Fort is an indoor playground/cafe that serves food, coffee and drinks for parents ;).

We Rock Spectrum has spent a lot of time running a gym and “it’s all about inclusion, healthy play and social opportunities for kids.”

Quinn recently attended Yukando’s birthday party and it was great! It’s an open studio – no appointments, no cleaning, just be creative in your own space!

List Of The Items Included In The Physical Activity And Nutrition…

I haven’t taken my kids to the Arc – bad St. Lausanne! But I had to stay because I knew he would love to ride it and see it from the top. It’s definitely a rain or shine activity, but I’m sure the view is clear.

Big Joel’s Ride is in Wentzville, but it’s great fun for kids of all ages! It is said to be a zoo and an educational park so all the little animal lovers will be happy.

The Boathouse is a lakeside restaurant in Forest Park and is a great place to take the kids because you can rent a boat for the lake.

MoBot is an amazing botanical garden and fun to walk around on your own to see, but it also has a fantastic children’s area with a splash pad – pack your fancy clothes! We were almost naked before ;)!

Boredom Busters Summer Activities (free Printable)

All Playgrounds included in O’Fallon – we haven’t opened yet, but it’s a must if you’re in St. Charles County!

The Butterfly House is a cool and unique place in St. They have an indoor carousel which is fun on a rainy day. Faust Park also has a huge playground!

Another not-in-St. Luis’ attraction, the Cahokia Mountains are the most complete remains of a prehistoric civilization in northern Mexico (his words, not mine!). We actually took the kids and it was a really cool place, probably better for elementary school age kids.

Indoor And Outdoor Activities List

Cardinals games are my FAVORITE summer activity! If the kids are really young and/or restless during the game, Busch Stadium has an amazing kids area! We can try the Cardinals Kids Club – $30 for a ticket and a chance to give your child a ride before the game!

Fun Indoor Sports Games For Kids

Castlewood is one of the best parks in St. It’s fun to explore the river, walking trails, and playground. NOTE: do not cross the river – this is a very dangerous place in Meramec.

City Park has many statues and splash pads, so pack appropriate clothing, towels, and shoes.

Eckert owns 2 farms, not in St. Louis, but not far from it. From the Bellville and Millstadt locations, we drive to Millstadt every year to pick apples, pick pumpkins, and cut down our Christmas tree.

Forest Park is just one gem for all of St. The 1904 World’s Fair, which was fun to explore, was full of St. Louis (Zoo, Art Museum, History Museum, Science Center, Muni). If you visit The Boathouse, you can take a boat ride with the kids.

Creative Outdoor Event Ideas: The Ultimate Guide

It’s definitely one of my favorite summer spots to take the kids – it’s small enough that they can see everything without spending a whole day. Feed the goats, ride the train, get a snow cone and at the end there are 2 free beers for adults. Did I mention Grant’s Farm favorite? 😉

Hidden Valley – another winter activity – has a pole that does not require age or height, but children must be old enough to ride the tube independently. Everything on our list!

Kiener Plaza recently received a major renovation and now includes a playground, splash pad and shade trees.

Indoor And Outdoor Activities List

Laumier is a great park for kids to walk and explore. They also have art + nature classes for kids.

Fun & Simple Ideas For A Summer Bucket List For Kids

One of our favorite places in St. Louis, Lone Elk Park has bison, elk, turkey and deer. You *can* get out of the car, but with the kids, we usually just drive through the park to look for animals.

Located in the middle of Town and Country, Longview Farm Park has a wonderful paddock and horses – worth checking out for a change of scenery!

The Muni – America’s oldest and largest outdoor music theater – is a great place to take older kids in the summer. The Muny shows are only hot, and they start after dark (around 8:15 p.m.), so it can be an incredible last night. I have had Quinn for the past 2 years as a 4 and 5 year old, but of course it depends on the child!

North Pointe is a great pool for kids of all ages – it has a lazy river, a large children’s area, water slides, competitive pool,
