Fun Activities For Young Toddlers – Whenever I’ve had a little running, I find I have very little mental strength in place to think about any thoughts of activity. My mind is empty of madness. Over the past year or so, I’ve been compiling a “to-do” list. This quick and easy activity for toddlers uses ingredients I already have at home and can whip up in a minute or two. It also required quite a bit of brain power on my part.

We all need a quick, easy, low-key prep activity that we can do at any moment on a crazy afternoon…or on one of those days when everyone was playing bedside music all night long the night before and we’re exhausted.

The best thing about young children is that they love to repeat, if they don’t want to. So I’m actually not going to give you 100 ideas. Most likely, you will only need a small amount. You may be able to repeat some of these activities several times each week and have nothing to complain about.

Add dry pasta to a plastic tub and drop in some spoonfuls or small animal toys (or bugs) like we did here.

Get some ice trays and spoons or bottles filled with colored water. Squeeze the colored water into the ice tray, mix and enjoy! It’s so fun to see the different colors the kids make.

It only takes a few minutes to stick the paper tunnel to the ground and you’re ready to start rolling! It’s also fun to use with cars and trains.

Grab your favorite construction vehicle or Lego bricks and your plastic bin, plus dry beans! You may also want to put some spoons, tongs, or anything you can get your hands on.

Grab some kids’ favorite toys, googly eyes, and other accessories for this simple open-ended activity! Pipe cleaners and popsicle sticks are fun things to add, too!

You can do this with any toys around your house, including your own Lego Duplo bricks. Stick some colored paper on the floor and you’re ready to sort.

We call them wall stickers. We do it for Christmas and Valentine’s Day, but you can do it all year round. My friend Susie loves to do activities with stickers and dots. They are also amazing.

Days with Gray has a great garage toss game that can save your day if you are stuck indoors. All you need is painter’s tape and a soft ball.

Hands-on as we grow includes 5 different activities that you can do with just 6 rows of blue painter’s tape.
