I find it difficult to answer that question as I like to categorize hotels according to the experience they offer, be it a city break, romance, desert experience or a cruise. However, some desert hotels left an awe-inspiring impression on me, making them one of my most memorable travel experiences. So there you are: this is my top 10 list of the best hotels in the world (and I recommend putting them on your bucket list).

Currently, Soneva Jani has 24 water rooms and one beach house, but more beach houses are planned in the next phase.
